Affordable Flat Roof Coating
What are the advantages of a flat roof coating? Flat roof coatings can extend the life of your roof and increase its protection at a lower cost than a full replacement. These treatments apply over your current roof and don't require you to remove the old one before coating.
Types of Commercial Roofing
There are many different types of commercial roofing systems. At Superior Roofing, we have expertise with them all. Here are some common types of commercial roofing your building likely utilizes.
Metal Roofing
Metal roofing is made of sheets cut and molded at the construction site. When installed on a sloped roof, it offers energy efficiency advantages (lower heat gain during warm, sunny weather) and low upkeep.
SPF (Spray Polyurethane Foam) Roofing
SPF is a cost-effective alternative for flat and low-slope roofs. Because it eliminates the need for most roof flashing types, SPF roofing is popular because it acts as both roof insulation and a waterproof membrane. When applied with spray equipment, an SPF roofing system creates a smooth roof covering that can be placed over an existing roof or new construction.
EPDM Roofing
Sometimes known as "rubber roofing," EPDM is a black and flexible like a rubber inner tube polyethylene plastic often used in roofs. The unique adhesive is used to seal seams between adjacent EPDM sheets and metal flashing elements, which are typically placed outside the structure. EPDM roofing may be installed on flat or low-slope roofs.
TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) Roofing
TPO is a single-membrane system, just like EPDM roofing. TPO can be laid down in huge rolls with mechanical fasteners and fusing seams with heat. The most common white TPO material reflects solar radiation effectively, reducing air conditioning demand during hot weather.
Modified Bitumen Roofing
Bitumen is used in rolls and heated with a torch to seal seams and bind the asphaltic substrate. Using more modern single-membrane systems (EPDM & TPO) has reduced the demand for modified bitumen roofing.
Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Many industrial structures with sloping roofs rely on asphalt shingles for weather protection. This roofing system is one of the most cost-effective, providing building owners with various shingle types and hues from which to choose.
